Louise Tapper, Occupational Therapist

Louise is an Occupational Therapist who thrives on working with people through their lifespan to help them get the most out of life. Louise completed her Bachelor in Occupational Therapy with first class honours in 1999 from Otago Polytechnic.  Since this time Louise has worked as an Occupational Therapist in a range of fields including mental health, older persons health, community rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation both in the UK and New Zealand.

Louise has been enjoying providing OT services a day a week at St Martins Medical Practice since 2019. Her special areas of interest are promoting wellbeing alongside life’s transitions and challenges, supporting people’s mental wellbeing and assisting people to manage their long-term conditions.  In addition to this she works in her private practice, ThriveOT, as an Occupational Therapist, as a supervisor with other professionals and is also an auditor for the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand.

Outside of work, Louise enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, walking her dog, tennis, running in the Port Hills, skiing, reading and drinking good coffee.
