MMH cybersecurity breach

As you will be aware from the media, Manage My Health (MMH) has recently experienced a cybersecurity breach affecting their online patient portal used by many healthcare providers across New Zealand.

St Martins Medical Practice stopped using MMH in June 2024 when we moved to the Indici system and the MyIndici portal.

We have learned that MMH may continue to hold information for patients who previously had a MMH account and did not close that account with them. This means some historical portal data may remain within MMH systems, which are managed by the vendor.

What this means for St Martins patients

  • The breach relates to MMH systems only, not to MyIndici
  • MMH continues to work through investigation scenarios and will contact any affected individuals directly
  • If you previously used MMH and have not closed your MMH account, you may wish to consider doing so now.  However, MMH are advising individuals not to close their MMH accounts at this point. The MMH portal information is now secure and it provides a useful secure channel to communicate with patients about the breach.
