GP’s to refer men to talk, connect in a ‘social prescribing’ pilot

A new “social prescribing” pilot programme has been adopted by at least three medical centres in Christchurch, with the aim of offering connection and conversation to men who are struggling.

It will give GPs the option to refer male patients struggling with their mental health to a three-session workshop.

Its goal is to help men to talk.
