We are keen to provide carefully tailored advice and care for our male population. We encourage our male patients to see their GP regularly for all medical concerns including:
Between the ages of 50 and 75 years, the overall number of deaths for men is 30% higher than for women.
From the age of 40 years onwards, heart disease and cancer are increasingly common causes of death in men. The prevalence of heart disease and some cancers can be attributed to men’s adverse lifestyles, including excessive alcohol intake, lack of exercise and inappropriate diet
Make sure you take opportunities to reduce the impact of some of these illnesses by having checks regularly. As well as seeing your GP and Practice Nurse, our Health Coach (HC) and Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) can give advice on ways to improve your physical and mental health. You can book directly with both of them – appointments with the HC or HIP are fully funded.
