Planning an overseas trip?

If you are planning an overseas trip, at St Martin’s Medical Practice we can help with your pre-travel preparations. The medical practice provides a specific travel clinic with Dr Stephen Jachacy for both registered and casual patients. We offer a wide-range of travel vaccines and are also an authorised yellow fever vaccination centre.

All appointments require a consultation, ideally 6 – 8 weeks prior to travelling, especially if you already have underlying health issues, or are travelling to countries in the developing world. Last minute travel consultations may compromise full protection from vaccinations specific to your itinerary.

Travel Consultations

Travel consults are comprehensive and require additional paperwork to be completed in advance of the consultation via the questionnaire link below.  A 30 minute appointment is generally required per person.

Please also note, these appointments are not classified as a general medical service and are not subsidised, therefore a higher fee applies. Current prices listed below.

Our travel medicine specialist Dr Stephen Jachacy is the sole yellow fever prescriber and is also able to consult on more complex and remote itineraries. For registered patients, all of our doctors are also able to provide basic travel advice and prescribe a limited selection of travel vaccines.

Due to the length of appointment, anytime an appointment is booked but patient does not attend and appointment was not cancelled at least one business day prior, a $100.00 cancellation fee will be applied.

Please note: The consultation fee does NOT cover the cost of prescription medicines, necessary vaccines and blood tests that may be recommended.

Travel Questionnaire

Please complete the Pre-travel Questionnaire for each adult and child travelling and return via the Submit button on the form.  Your form will be reviewed to determine how long an appointment is required.  Our reception team will then phone you to book your appointment with you.  Please also ensure you bring any records of previous vaccinations you may have had to the consultation.
