Dr. Susan Francis

He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata he tangata he tangata!

Dr Susan Francis is of Ngāti Maru, Ngāti Whanaunga, and Ngā Puhi descent. She graduated from University of Otago in 2009, and worked in Tauranga, Middlemore, Northshore and Whangarei hospitals, in various specialties, including Paediatrics, Women’s Health, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, Intensive care, before deciding that her heart was with “he tangata” in General Practice.

Susan started her GP training in Auckland, and completed her GP Fellowship in Dunedin before moving to Otautahi. She has a Diploma in Children’s Health, and a special interest in Paediatrics, Māori health, and in Acute care.

Her and her family moved to Christchurch in 2021,  She is married with two young boys.  She loves spending time with her family, in the outdoors, hiking, cooking, gardening, fishing, and walking her miniature dachshund.
