A “repeat prescription” can be provided on request without needing a GP appointment, to enrolled patients whose medical conditions are stable. This service is at the discretion of your Doctor and is usually discussed with your doctor at a previous appointment.
The maximum supply of medication a prescription can be written for is 3 months. The only exception to this is for contraception, where it may be possible to provide a prescription for 6 months.
For your wellbeing a consultation with your doctor is usually required at least every six months to review your medication. This may also vary at the discretion of your doctor.
Your Doctor may wish to see you rather than issuing a prescription. If this is the case, when you request a repeat prescription, we will contact you by phone or reply on the MMH Portal, if an appointment with your Doctor is needed or if we require any further information to issue the prescription.
The best way to request a repeat prescription is on the ManageMyHealth patient portal.
You can also phone us on 337 0991 and be put on the Phone Nurse list, a nurse will then call you back to discuss your prescription request.
The prescription charge from St Martins Medical Practice is to cover the time it takes to check and generate your prescription, and includes nurse, doctor and administration components. Please note, some pharmacies may have their own charges for dispensing a prescription.
Please allow 48 hours for a repeat prescription – so order before you need it!
Prescriptions ordered via ManageMyHealth require pre-payment on the portal.
Prescriptions ordered over the phone will be emailed an account. Payment can be made online into the St Martins Medical Practice bank account: 06-0821-0665202-00 . Please enter your surname + initial and chart number as references.
